Accessibility Statement

The CK-12 Platform is designed to meet the varied needs of students on their learning journey.

Mission

CK-12 is committed to providing free access to content and technology tools that empower students as well as teachers to enhance and experiment with different learning styles, resources, levels of competence, and circumstances.

Anytime, Anywhere, Any Device
CK-12 is device agnostic. Our interactive, intelligent platform can be accessed through a browser on a laptop, desktop, Chromebook, tablet, or mobile device. Note that our standalone Simulations and PLIX Interactives should be accessed with a tablet or larger device to have a screensize large enough to use the interactive.

Flexi, CK-12’s Student Tutor

Flexi is available to help students with answers to their questions while learning; hints & recommendations while doing practice; feedback during lessons and practice; and reminders to help them time manage and submit their work.

Adaptive Practice
CK-12’s Adaptive Practice tool is designed to meet students where they are. With built-in hints, recommendations, and feedback, it supports students struggling with a particular concept. Variations in the level of each question (from easy to hard) allow the system to present students with questions that support and/or challenge them, based on their previous answers. Memory boosts (spaced repetition and concept interleaving) help students retain what they have learned over time. Paragraph mapping for science questions pinpoints specific spots within a lesson that students should review for certain missed questions.

Multimodal Learning
CK-12 believes in learning through multiple modalities, including text, interactivity, video, practice, and more. Related Content offerings for FlexBook® 2.0 Lessons encourage further exploration and/or give additional support to students as they learn about a topic. Real World Applications for concepts and within Simulations and PLIX Interactives help students apply knowledge even beyond the lesson itself.

Annotation Tools

Notes and highlighting tools, plus hover-over vocabulary, encourage active reading and tracking of key ideas, vocabulary, and formulas.

Reading Supports

Display settings within our FlexBooks allow users to adjust font size, background color, and line spacing. Users can use a standard text-to-speech program or browser extension to read all core text within each lesson. The built-in Google Translate feature allows users to translate core text into their preferred language when reading a FlexBook® lesson. Additionally, translated Simulations support interactive learning for students using multiple languages.

SSO & LMS Integrations

Single-sign-on options and integration with Canvas, Google Classroom, and Schoology allow for easy access to the platform, streamlined assignments, and grade passback (including access to more detailed Reports & Insights).

Offline Options

While the best experience is online, PDFs are available for FlexBooks, and worksheets can be downloaded for practices and quizzes.

Enhanced Accessibility

CK-12 continues to make its FlexBook® 2.0 platform (e.g. navigation, buttons) more accessible for all teachers and learners.
