Is CK-12 COPPA/FERPA Compliant?

As a non-profit, we are not actually covered by FERPA or COPPA, however, we take our users' privacy seriously. We do require a parent or teacher to create accounts for children under 13. CK-12 does not collect, maintain, use, or share student personal information beyond that which is needed for the operation of our website, the delivery of our services, or as otherwise authorized by the parent, teacher, or student.

We DO NOT:
Sell student information, or use, or disclose student information for behavioral targeting of advertisements to students.

We DO:
Maintain a comprehensive security program that is reasonably designed to protect the security, privacy, confidentiality, and integrity of student personal information against risks - such as unauthorized access or use, or unintended or inappropriate disclosure - through the use of administrative, technological, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.

We WILL:
Notify our users in the event a security breach has allowed unauthorized access to users' data as soon as possible.
