Best Practices to Avoid Save Errors When Editing CK-12 Content

Please review the best practices below to avoid save errors when editing CK-12 content.

Best practice for inserting images from the web into your content:

  1. Right click on an image and copy its URL (copy image URL).
  2. In the CK-12 editor toolbar, click on the tree icon   to open the insert image tool.
  3. Paste the URL of the copied image.
  4. Click Insert.

Best practice for uploading images from your computer into your content:

  1. Right click on an image and save it to your computer (save image as).
  2. In the CK-12 editor toolbar, click on the tree icon  to open the insert image tool.
  3. Select the image to upload.
  4. Click Insert.

Copy content from a FlexBook or concept:

To copy content from a FlexBook or concept use the "Make a copy" option. Make a copy will create a copy of the resource and save it to the library. This action is only available for CK-12 concepts and FlexBooks.

To add content from a FlexBook or concept use the "Add to FlexBook" option.  Add to FlexBook will take the added resources and append them to the FlexBook.  The newly added content can be rearranged from the table of contents.

Copy partial text:

We recommend new text inserted in CK-12 to be free from any formatting when inserting into the editor. Insert images with one of the methods above.

Editing large amounts of content:

CK-12 allows users to edit large amounts of content, however due to the potential save issues users may experience we recommend working in small chunks.
