How to Attribute FlexBook® Textbook Content Under the CK-12 Curriculum License

When using any CK-12 Foundation content, whether text, images, videos, simulations, or other materials you are required to provide proper attribution to CK-12 in accordance with the CK-12 Curriculum License. This ensures that the original creators are credited and that the content is used responsibly and legally.

Attribution should be clear, visible, and reasonably placed near the content being used. At a minimum, it should include:

  • The name “CK-12 Foundation”
  • The title of the resource (if available)
  • A link back to the original source on the CK-12 website (when possible)
  • A note indicating if any modifications were made (e.g., “adapted from CK-12 Foundation”)

If you remix, adapt, or build upon CK-12 materials, you must still acknowledge the original source while also making it clear that changes were made. Attribution should not imply endorsement by CK-12 unless explicitly stated.

For specific formatting examples, attribution placements, and use-case guidance (e.g., classroom use, online platforms, printed materials), please refer to the CK-12 Attribution Guide.
